Human heart Anatomy

Human heart is a muscular organ. It has four chambers right atrium, right ventricle, left atrium and left ventricle. Atrium receives the deoxygenated blood from all the parts of body through veins. Ventricle pumps the oxygen rich blood to all the parts of body through arteries. While the right side of the heart maintains the pulmonary circulation (pumps blood to the lungs), left side of the heart pumps blood to all other parts of the body including heart (systemic circulation). Heart had 4 valves. Two atria ventricular valve and two semi lunar valves. Two Atrioventricular valves are tricuspid valve and bicuspid valve situated between upper and lower chambers of heart. Atrioventricular valves control blood flow from atrium to ventricle. Two semi lunar valves are aortic valve and pulmonary valve, control the blood flow out of heart.
